The Unity Prayer Team is Here for You!
Unity Prayer Team members have all received training in Affirmative Prayer. If, after reading the following information, this sounds like a calling, a place to serve at Unity of Beaverton, please talk with Frances Lancaster, 503-640-4185 o e-mail her.
To pray in and through the power of Jesus Christ is to deny appearances and remember the Truth. The human personality relies on the senses for meaning, and the world of contrasts leads us to believe in separation from our Source, God.
In our Affirmative Prayers, we remember our unity, first by a word of Truth and then by an awareness and deep feeling of the Truth, our oneness with God the Good.
We remember that in God, as Spirit, nothing is broken, nothing is missing. We are a perfect idea in the mind of God, created fully capable and lovable, more than sufficient to give and receive Love, connected forever to the Wisdom and Power that provides all the Good we could ever desire.
As we reconnect with this Truth, our feelings of fear diminish, our sense of separation decreases, and we begin to hear the Voice of Love inspiring us, directing us, and comforting us. We feel our oneness, joy, and peace.
Scripture tells us, "Be not conformed to the world, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind (including feelings), that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God." (Romans 12:2). We also read, “Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creation, old things are passed away; behold all things become new.” II Corinthians 5:17
Our Affirmative Prayer brings us to a more purified state of consciousness in which the Grand Intelligence, the vast Creative Power, the Law of Mind is now free to manifest our good. In gratitude, we release our prayer and expect an answer.
...“Where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.” Mathew 18:20
