Dr. Michael Mirdad Visits Unity of Beaverton

This Sunday, August 1st, Unity of Beaverton is pleased to welcome Dr. Michael Mirdad as our guest speaker for both Sunday services and a very special afternoon workshop from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm.  Dr. Mirdad's message will focus on the Five Stages of the Transformation Process.

Dr. Michael Mirdad is a world-renowned Spiritual Teacher, Healer, and Author. He has worked as a Healer and Counselor for nearly 30 years and is the author of the best-selling books, The Seven Initiations of the Spiritual Path, You’re Not Going Crazy…You’re Just Waking Up!, and An Introduction to Tantra and Sacred Sexuality. Michael has facilitated thousands of classes, lectures, and workshops throughout the world on Mastery, Spirituality, Relationships, and Healing and is commonly referred to as a “teacher’s teacher” and a “healer’s healer.” He has been featured as a keynote speaker in the world’s largest Expos and Conferences, and has been on radio, television, and various Internet programs, as well as being featured in several magazines, including Whole Self Times, Sedona Journal, and Yoga Journal. IT’S REALLY NOT ABOUT THE COLORS…

At long last our exterior church sign has gone into the ground!  Not only have we placed a colorful new sign in the ground, but we’ve added rich color inside, as well.  All of these additions feel symbolic for our theme of New Beginnings.  For instance, we are bringing warm colors into the sanctuary, chapel, foyer and into our new community room.  I don’t mind telling you…we look fine!

Adding color has been such a great lesson for looking at how we deal with change.  The comments came pouring in.  And, in the midst of it all, I learned that introducing any color into your environment will bring emotions to the surface for people that they didn’t necessarily know they had.  It can be an irritant for some, a soothing influence for others.  For the most part, though, the comments have been extremely positive! (BTW—the names of the colors are Spicy Cayenne and A Cup of Comfort.)

 Life changes come in all shapes and all sizes—and we’re not just talking about painting a few walls now.  The insignificance of walls can be translated into all the ways we get distracted with the unimportant.  Isn’t it more important that we concentrate on those big topics in our lives that influence our directions? For example, we could be talking about:  diagnoses of physical illnesses, job changes, divorce, loss of a loved one, financial instability, relocation, empty nesting, planetary crises, war, birth/adoption of a child, retirement, falling in love, using addictions to cope--to list a few.
